Social Media Marketing and Sales 101 – Free Presentation

Social Media Marketing and Sales 101 – Free Presentation

Hey there Business Bloomers! Yesterday (July 21, 2015) I had the pleasure of co-hosting a free presentation on Social Media Marketing and Sales 101. My cohort in this presentation was John Jurkiewicz, sales coach and business consultant extraordinaire. John and I met on Google+, and while I shared with him tips on social marketing and creating a strong brand identity, he shared with me some simple secrets to sales scripting that were very effective and which helped me remove my own inner blocks to selling. We got together and chatted about how marketing and sales go hand-in-hand, but rarely do we see any presentations and workshops that include both marketing and sales – it’s usually one or the other. But really, what good is all that marketing savvy if you don’t know how to close the sale to the audience you’re building up? And what good is knowing how to close the sale every time if you have no audience to sell to? This was when we realized we had a great opportunity to team up and bring a useful and helpful marketing and sales presentation to you 🙂 So we created a great slideshow presentation held a live Hangout on Air yesterday which was recorded, and which you can watch below, woot!  So get that cuppa tea or coffee or juice, grab a notepad and some paper, and prepare to learn some great tips that you can put in to action right away to increase the effectiveness of your marketing and sales efforts!   Social Media Marketing and Sales 101 Presentation Click here to get the worksheet that goes along with this Social...

Words to the Wise: Practice Makes Perfect! Free Social Media Marketing & Sales Presentation July 21, 2015

Aaaah Yes Grasshopper, Practice *Does* Make Perfect   Hey there Business peeps, I’ve got to ask you… How many of you have either hosted or been a guest on a Google Hangout? How many of you have ever given a live presentation, or delivered a speech in front of an audience? Did you prepare for your presentation? Did you practice using whatever technologies you were using to present? Before you go further… if long ass posts aren’t your cup of tea, you can just scroll down and watch the little short video instead. But reading is fun, you know?   The Back Story I’ve teamed up with another awesome connection I met on Google+, namely, +John Jurkiewicz. Let me tell you, John is pretty awesome at closing the sale. And I just wasn’t comfy with that. And I’m pretty awesome at marketing, when I am really motivated to do it. And John wasn’t so comfy with that. So John and I got together and helped each other out. He taught me so much about getting the sale, and what he taught me solved the biggest challenge I faced when it came to making the sale: my own inner blocks against selling! I taught John that everything he does either adds to or takes away from a solid brand identity, and gave him tips on how to strengthen his branding, to be always reinforcing and cultivating and nurturing his brand identity.   Which Brings Us To… One day whilst we were chatting in a Hangout, John and I realized that what we offered would make a pretty useful and nifty package as...

Toastmasters TLI Slideshow: How to Use Google Drive

Toastmasters TLI Slideshow: How to Use Google Drive

Hi There Business Bloomers! I had the great honor and fun job of presenting “How to Use Google Drive” at the District 12 Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) on January 10, 2015.  Thank you to my fellow Toastmasters who attended the “How to Use Google Drive” presentation at TLI! I promised to share the slideshow with you, and you will find it further down in this post 🙂   Why Toastmasters? If you follow me on social sites at all, you’ve probably already heard me sing the praises of my local Toastmasters Club, the Desert Sunrise Speakers – Club 1969 which meets in Palm Desert, CA on Thursdays from 7:15am – 8:30am. Those weekly meetings provide a forum in which to hone and practice my public speaking and leadership skills, which in turn have enabled me to provide great presentations like the one I gave at TLI.   Why Did You Present a Slideshow Instead of a Live Demonstration, Meilani? The attendees were newbies to Google and to Drive, so this was a presentation for beginners. With a slideshow presentation, I was able to control the focus of the presentation and what I wanted to teach this beginner audience. Using photos of particular screen captures in Drive enabled me to show the audience the features they needed to learn first as newbies. With a live demo, there are so many opportunities for participants to ask “will you show us what that link / button / icon does?” and it is easy to get sidetracked from the purpose of the presentation and to run out of time. A slideshow presentation helps the presenter stay on topic and on...
